In this video you will learn How to Export and Import Masters in Tally Prime with Opening Balances.
In Tally Prime you can export and import the masters from one company to another company with or without opening balances via XML format.
Follow the 7 steps below to Export and Import Masters in Tally Prime;
Step 1: Open the company from which you want to export the masters
Step 2: Click on the button Export available in the top button bar and select option Masters
Step 3: Click on the configure button and choose the following options
- Type of Master: Choose the master you wish to export like Accounting, Inventory, All Masters and so on
- Include dependent masters = Yes
- Export closing balance as options = Set Yes if you wish to export closing balances else set No
- File format = XML (Data Interchange)
- Export to: Define file path and name
- Save and click send to generate masters xml file
Step 4: Open the company in which you wish to import the masters
Step 5: Click on the button Import available on the top button bar and select the option Masters
Step 6: Browse the xml file which you have exported and wish to import in this company
Step 7: Behaviour of import if master already exists: Recommended option is Modify with new data
It’s Done! All your masters will be created in the new company with complete details and opening balances if any.
